Four mechanical steps, no shortcuts. Here's what happens to your slab from first grind to finished floor — and the types of projects we do it on.
Diamond Grinding
We start with coarse metal-bond diamonds that cut through old coatings, laitance, and surface damage down to clean, solid concrete. This is the most labour-intensive part and the step most DIY or budget jobs skip — which is why those floors fail.
Progressive Honing
We work through finer resin-bonded diamond grits — typically 50, 100, 200, and 400 — with each pass removing the scratch marks from the last. The concrete gets smoother and starts to reflect light before any sealer goes on.
Chemical Densification
A lithium or sodium silicate densifier soaks into the open pores of the concrete and reacts with the calcium hydroxide to form a harder crystalline compound. The concrete itself gets denser and tougher at a molecular level. No coating, no film — it becomes part of the slab.
Final Polish & Guard
